After a demonstration staged to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in every part of America, the base of a statue of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in Parliament Square was defaced with words written on it that (Churchill) “was a racist.”
全米各地での「黒人の命は大切だ」運動との連帯を示すために行われたデモの後、(ロンドン中心部の)英議会広場にあるウィンストン・チャーチル元英首相像の台座が、「(チャーチルは)人種差別主義者だった」と台座に書かれた言葉で、汚されてしまった。

On June 7, 2020, a demonstration was organized outside the U.S. Embassy in the UK to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a police officer knelt on his neck in Minneapolis.
2020年6月7日、米ミネアポリスで丸腰の黒人男性ジョージ・フロイドさんが警察官に首を膝で押さえつけられた後、死亡したフロイドさん殺害事件を受けて広がった「黒人の命は大切だ」運動との連帯を示すため、在英米大使館の外でデモが行われた。
