The WTO was inaugurated in 1995, as an outgrowth of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, with the aim of promoting a framework for multilateral free trade toward 21st century.
世界貿易機関(WTO)は、21世紀に向けた多角的な自由貿易体制の推進を目的に、ガット(関税・貿易一般協定)を発展改組して1995年に発足した。
