When a hostile takeover bid occurs, its target company can ask shareholders to exercise their right to acquire new shares, reducing the voting power of shares held by the party mounting the takeover bid.
敵対的買収者が現れたら、その買収標的会社は、株主に新株予約権(新株を購入できる権利)を行使してもらって、敵対的買収者が保有する株式の議決権の比率を引き下げることができる。
