A lower court found the man guilty on charges of murder and indecent assault resulting in the death of a first-year high school student.
地裁は、高校1年の女子生徒を殺害して殺人と強制わいせつ致死の罪に問われた男性に対して、有罪の判決を下した。

Rape and indecent sexual assault are not subject to prosecution unless the victim files a complaint, but many victims of these sex crimes do not press charges due to fears that they will face prejudice from people around them and that their assailants may retaliate.
強姦罪や強制わいせつ罪は、(親告罪なので)被害者が告訴しないかぎり、(検察が)起訴に持ち込めない。でも、これら性犯罪の被害者は、周囲の人の偏見や加害者の逆恨みの恐れから、告訴しないケースが多い。
