Under the secrecy protection law, highly confidential state secrets will be disclosed in principle after 30 years of confidentiality designation. But concrete measures, such as how to disclose or destroy documents after the secrecy period ends, have been left up in the air.
秘密保護法では、秘匿性の高い国家機密の公開は、秘密指定の原則30年後である。しかし、指定期間終了後の文書をどう公開・廃棄するか、などの具体的な方策はこれから[未解決]だ。

With the enactment of the secrecy protection law, united rules covering the entire government have been put in place to protect state secrets concerning defense, diplomacy and anti-espionage and antiterrorism activities.
秘密保護法の制定で、防衛、外交、スパイ活動防止やテロ活動の防止に関する政府全体の統一的な国家機密保全の法制が整った。
