As westerly winds become stronger in March, Japan and South Korea will bear the full brunt of PM2.5 sweeping from China, the size of which is about one-tenth that of a grain of Japanese cedar pollen.
3月から偏西風が強まるにつれ、日本や韓国は、中国から飛散する[襲来する]PM2.5(大きさはスギ花粉の10分の1程度)の影響をもろに受けることになる。
Similarly to yellow sand, the air pollution in China is not a fire on the opposite side of the river for Japan. It’s because particulate matter which causes asthma, bronchitis and lung cancer will disperse into neighboring countries including Japan and South Korea via westerly winds.
