えがく【描く・^▲画く】

❶〔鉛筆，ペンなどで〕draw；〔絵筆で〕paint

びょうぶには牡丹(ぼたん)が描かれていた
Peonies were painted on the (folding) screen.／The (folding) screen had a picture of peonies on it.

❷〔形づくる〕

コンドルが円を描いて飛んでいる
The condor is flying in a circle.

稜線がゆるやかな弧を描いていた
The ridge of the mountain formed [described] a gentle arc.

❸〔表現する〕describe；《文》 depict

バルザックは当時の社会の多様な現象を生き生きと描いた
Balzac vividly described [depicted] the various social phenomena of his time.

❹〔思い浮かべる〕

美しい風景を心に描く
picture [imagine] beautiful scenery to oneself

かく【描く・^▲画く】

〔鉛筆・クレヨンなどで〕draw；〔彩色して〕paint

富士山の水彩画を書いている
He is painting Mt. Fuji in watercolors.
