❶〔意図〕an intention ((of doing))

あす帰って来るつもりです
I intend [am planning] to come back tomorrow.

彼に会うつもりはありません
I have no intention of seeing him.

そんなつもりで言ったのではない
I did not mean it that way.

何のつもりでそんなことを言うのだ
What do you mean by that?

彼は我々を仲たがいさせるつもりだ
His design is to separate [drive a wedge between] us.

❷〔期待，予定〕

君に来てもらえるつもりでいた
I expected 「you to [that you would] come.／I had counted on your coming.

あすは会議があるからそのつもりで
Expect [Be ready for] a meeting tomorrow.

❸〔そうなった気持ち〕

あれで歌手のつもりだ
And he thinks he is a singer!

死んだつもりになって働きます
I will work with all the energy that's in me.

酒を飲んだつもりで献金します
I'll donate the money and tell myself that I would just have spent it on drinks anyway.
