君の提案は納得できない
I cannot accept your suggestion.／I cannot consent [《文》 assent] to your proposal.

外国行きをあきらめるように納得させた
I persuaded him to give up going abroad.／〔文〕I dissuaded him from going abroad.

私たちは納得ずくで離婚した
We got a divorce through [by] mutual agreement.

❷〔理解〕納得する understand；〔得心がいく〕be convinced ((of))

そのことで母性愛の力を納得した
It 「convinced me of [made me understand] the power of maternal love.

具体的な例をあげて説明しても彼はなかなか納得しないだろう
Even an explanation with concrete examples will not go down easily with him.

納得がいくように説明してやった
I explained it to him to his satisfaction.
