❶〔上に置く〕

植木鉢を花台に載せる
put [place] a flower pot on a stand

子供をひざに載せてあやしていた
She had set her child on her lap and was playing with him.

❷〔車などに積む〕load ((a truck)) with ((goods))

旅行者の荷物を載せた車
a car loaded with the baggage of travelers

スキーを車の屋根に載せて出掛けた
They set out with their skis on the roof of their car.

荷物をカートに載せて税関の方へ行った
I put my luggage in a pushcart and headed for Customs.

❸〔記事などを掲載する〕publish ((an article)) in ((a newspaper))

今日の新聞は面白い記事を載せている
Today's paper carries an interesting story.／There is an interesting story in today's paper.

それは記録に載せるほどの出来事ではない
The incident is not important enough to be put on record.

この辞書は用例を沢山載せている
This dictionary gives a lot of examples showing the actual use of words.

The paper deliberately left the affair unreported.
