3つの用法の違いに注意

Tom didn't leave the party early because Carol was there.
トムはキャロルがそこにいたからパーティーを早く切り上げたというのではなかった(◆制限用法)

Tom didn't leave the party early, because Carol was there.
トムはパーティーを早く切り上げて帰りはしなかった.キャロルがそこにいたからだ(◆非制限用法;becauseの前にカンマを置く)

Tom didn't leave the party early, because I checked.
トムはパーティーを早く切り上げて帰りはしなかった.ちゃんと調べたんだから(◆第一文の発話に対する理由づけ).

2 〔名詞節を導いて〕((主に略式))…だからだ,…ということ(◆the reason (why) の節と相関して;((形式))では that を用いる)

The reason (why) I don't eat much is because I've got indigestion.
少食なのは胃弱だからだ

Because he seldom writes you doesn't necessarily mean he no longer loves you.

3 〔単独で副詞的に〕どうしても
