The first official ministerial-level talks between China and Taiwan, at odds more than six decades since the 1949 creation of the People’s Republic of China, mark a big step toward expanding cross-strait dialogue beyond economic and trade issues.
1949年の中華人民共和国の樹立[建国]以来60年以上も対立している中国と台湾が初めて行った公式の閣僚級会談(2014年2月11日)は、経済や貿易問題を超えた両岸対話拡大への大きな一歩を踏み出すものだ。
