The concentration of rare earth elements of the inland deposits in China range from 500 ppm to 1,000 ppm, while 5,000 ppm or more of rare earth elements have been discovered in mud from the seafloor near Minami-Torishima island, one of the Ogasawara Islands.
中国の陸上鉱床のレア・アース(希土類)濃度は500〜1,000ppm程度なのに対して、小笠原諸島の南鳥島沖の海底から回収した泥には、5,000ppm以上のレア・アース(希土類)が発見されている。
