If a quoted company with a one-share trading unit changes its trading unit to 100 shares without changing the price of individual shares, the amount required for investment would rise 100-fold.
売買単位が1株の上場企業が、1株当たりの価格を変更しないで売買単位を100株に変更すると、投資(株の売買)に必要な金額は100倍になってしまう。

Many listed firms carrying out stock splits are simultaneously revising their trading units.
株式分割を実施する上場企業の多くは、売買単位の変更も同時に行っている。

The minimum trading unit of the three Japan Post group companies’ shares simultaneously listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Nov. 4, 2015 will be 100 shares, so investors will need at least ￥135,000 to ￥215,000 to invest in any of these companies.
2015年11月4日に東京証券取引所に同時上場される日本郵政グループ3社の株式の最低取引単位は100株なので、投資家は、13万5,000〜21万5,000円から3社の株にそれぞれ投資できることになる。
