❶〔味が悪い〕
まずい魚だ
This fish tastes awful.
見るからにまずそうな料理だった
The food looked unappetizing.／The food was uninviting even to look at.
そんな話をされると食事がまずくなる
Such talk spoils my dinner.
❷〔下手な〕poor
彼の歌はまずい
He is a poor singer.／《口》 His singing is awful.
彼女は字がまずい
She writes a poor hand.／She has bad handwriting.
あの大工はまずい
That carpenter is clumsy.
❸〔美しくない〕ugly; bad-looking; plain（▼特に女性が）
顔のまずい女の子
a plain [《米》 homely] girl
❹〔都合が悪い〕awkward
まずいときにやって来た
He turned up at an awkward [inopportune] moment.／His appearance was most untimely.
それは外交上まずいやり方だ
It is diplomatically an unwise measure.
