❶〔物の内部〕the inside
雨が降ってきたので内に入った
It began to rain, and so we went inside [indoors].
その戸は内からは開かない
The door doesn't open from the inside.
❷〔内心〕
彼は最後まで思いを内に秘めたままだった
He kept his feelings to himself to the end.
これは君の胸の内におさめておいてもらいたい
Please keep it to yourself.／Don't tell anybody about it.

Our company is on the verge of bankruptcy.
