❶〔危険な〕dangerous；〔冒険的な〕risky, hazardous
この川で泳ぐのは危ないよ
It's dangerous to swim in this river.
危ない遊び
a dangerous game
危ない目にあう
have a dangerous experience
それは危ないかけだ
It's a risky [hazardous] bet.
私の心臓ではジョギングは危ないと言われた
I was told [warned] that, with my heart, jogging would be risky.

My father is in critical condition.
命が危ない
His life is 「in danger [threatened].

It is rumored that the company may go under [broke].
❸〔不安定な〕insecure, unsteady；〔不確かな〕uncertain；〔疑わしい〕doubtful ((if; whether))
彼の商売は危なそうだ
His business looks insecure.
計画が実行されるかどうかは危ないものだ
It is uncertain [doubtful] whether the plan will be carried out.
彼の再選は危ない
His reelection is doubtful [unlikely].
❹〔信用できない〕unreliable
彼の情報じゃ危ないもんだ
His information is unreliable [dubious].／Coming from him, this piece of information can't be 「relied on [trusted].
彼が来るかどうか危ないな
I wouldn't count on his coming.
彼の約束は危ないと思う
I doubt that he'll keep his word.
