うまる【埋まる】

❶〔うずまる〕be buried ((in, under))；〔穴などが一杯になる〕be filled ((with))

地中深くに管が埋まっている
The pipe is buried deep in the soil.／The pipe lies deep underground.

穴は土砂で埋まっている
The hole 「has filled up [is filled] with earth and sand.

❷〔一杯になる〕

公園は人で埋まっている
The park 「is crowded with [is full of] people.

生徒たちで席が埋まった
The seats were all taken by students.

❸〔不足分が補われる〕

赤字はまだ埋まっていない
The deficit has not been covered [made good] yet.

欠員が埋まった
The vacancy was filled.

うずまる【^▲埋まる】
