❶〔ためらう，遠慮する〕hesitate ((to do))；〔恐れる〕be afraid ((of doing; to do))

金の借り倒しをはばからなかった
He had no scruples about borrowing money without paying it back.

はばからずに意見を述べる
tell [give] one's opinion frankly [without reserve]

過ちを改めるのにはばかることはない
