高校で化学を教えている
He teaches chemistry at high school.

彼に英語を個人的に教えている
I give him private lessons in English.／I tutor him privately in English.

I got him to 「give me instructions for using [instruct me in the use of] the computer.

❷〔告げる〕tell；〔示す〕show

人に道を教える
「direct a person [show a person the way] to a place

危険のあることを教えてやる
warn a person of danger

電話番号を教えて下さい
Please give me your phone number.／May I have your phone number?

駅への道を教えて下さい
Please tell me how to get to the station.
