さんざんしかられた
I was scolded severely.／《口》 I was given a real dressing down.

❷〔徹底的に〕thoroughly, utterly

さんざんこきおろされた
I was criticized mercilessly.

テニスでさんざん負けた
We were thoroughly [badly] beaten at tennis.／We were given a terrible beating at tennis.

さんざん迷惑をかけておきながら涼しい顔をしている
After all the trouble he has caused, he goes around looking as if nothing had happened.

さんざん働いたのにこれだけか
Is this all we get after all that work?
