❸〔修繕する〕repair; mend; fix（▼repairは故障したもの，比較的大きなものを直す．mendは比較的小さなものを補修する．fixはいずれにも用いる）

今，屋根を直している最中だ
The roof is under repair.
❹〔変え改める〕change; alter（▼changeより改まった語で，外観・用途などの変更に用いることが多い）
