五言絶句
a Chinese quatrain with five-character lines
❷〔言葉に詰まること〕絶句する be unable to continue speaking (because of emotion)；《口》 get [be] all choked up；〔役者が〕dry up
彼女は喜びに感極まって絶句した
She was so overcome with joy that 「she was at a loss for words [she didn't know what to say].
その問いに答えようとして彼女は涙にむせび絶句した
She started to answer the question, but then broke into tears and couldn't continue.
