すかす【透かす】

❶〔透き間を作る〕

障子は10センチほど透かしてあった
The shoji was ten centimeters or so ajar.

ここのところをもう少し透かしたほうがよい
There should be a little more space left (open) here.

羽目板を透かして張る
panel ((a wall)) leaving some space between the boards

❷〔まばらにする〕thin

風が霧を透かした
The wind thinned (out) the mist.

❸〔物を通して見る〕

窓ガラスを透かして内部をうかがった
