えんりょ【遠慮】
❶〔先を考えること〕forethought; foresight
彼は深謀遠慮の人だ
He has a great deal of foresight.／He plans carefully for the distant future.
❷〔控え目なこと〕reserve；〔謙虚〕modesty；〔抑制，気兼ね〕constraint
遠慮深い
〔控え目で打ち解けない〕reserved／〔つつましやかな〕modest／〔節度のある〕restrained
遠慮がちに話す
speak reservedly [with reserve]
あの二人は互いに遠慮している
Those two are very reserved with each other.
あいつは全く遠慮がない
