❶〔見えなくなる〕be hidden

The lake was hidden [veiled] by the fog.

The top of the mountain is hidden by the clouds.

The moon disappeared behind a cloud.
人込みに隠れて見えなくなった
He disappeared [was lost] in the crowd.

In a sudden panic, he hid himself behind a tree.
