❶〔分離する〕part, separate ((from))

けんかしている男の子を離した
I separated the fighting boys.

その男から目を離すな

❷〔間をおく〕

３メートルずつ離して10本の木を植えた
Ten trees were planted 「three meters apart [at intervals of three meters].

もっと距離を離しておけ

He reached the finish line two meters ahead of the runner-up.
