❶〔間隔があく〕
彼は東京から100キロ離れた所に住んでいる
He lives 「100 kilometers away [at a distance of 100 kilometers] from Tokyo.
木が２メートルずつ離れて立っている
The trees stand at intervals of two meters.
この絵は少し離れて見たほうがよく見える
This picture looks better if you stand back a short distance.
ガソリンスタンドはここから遠く離れている
The gas station is a long way from here.
彼は両親と離れて暮らしている
He lives apart from his parents.
兄とは大分年が離れている
My brother is much older than I am.
❷〔ある場所から去る〕leave
列車が駅を離れた
