❶〔犬のなき声〕bow-wow, woof, arf（▼woofは太い声，arfは小形犬の「きゃんきゃん」という声）；〔幼児語で犬〕a bow-wow（▼擬音語）

The dog started barking at me.
彼は犬のまねをしてわんわんと言った
He imitated the bow-wow [woof/arf] of a dog.

Here comes a doggy [bow-wow].
❷〔人の泣き声〕

The child just went on bawling.
