❶〔手などを貸して乗り物などに〕help ((a person)) to get on；〔自分の車などに〕give ((a person)) a lift [ride]；〔途中で拾う〕pick up
子供をスキーリフトに乗せてやった
I helped the child (to) get on the ski lift.
彼の車に乗せてもらった
He gave me a lift in his car.
うちまで乗せてあげよう
I will drive you home.
タクシーはホテルでアメリカ人を二人乗せた
The taxi picked up two Americans at the hotel.
その飛行機は首相の一行を乗せていた
The plane was carrying the Prime Minister and his party.／The plane had the Prime Minister and his suite on board.

I was asked to put his mother on the train bound for Osaka.
