a police box

説明
Koban are small-scale satellite police stations found in strategic spots within a police precinct. Uniformed officers are rotated to be on duty for tasks ranging from giving directions and filing lost-and-found reports to emergency response. They are designed to provide easy access for citizens and to facilitate communication between the police and residents in the neighborhood. It is not unusual for people to use a koban as an easy-to-find meeting spot.（意訳：警察署管轄の要所に置かれて，外勤巡査が交代で詰め，警察事務を執り行うところ．市民にとっては道を尋ねたり，拾得物を届けたり，時には待ち合わせの場所にしたりすることで交番とつながりをもつ）
