はじる【恥じる】
❶〔恥ずかしく思う〕be [feel] ashamed ((of; of doing; that))
約束を忘れたことを彼は恥じている
He is ashamed 「of himself for having forgotten [that he forgot] his promise.
自分の愚かさを恥じて赤くなった
He blushed at his own stupidity.
❷〔「恥じない」の形で，ひけをとらない〕
その名に恥じない大音楽家
a prominent musician worthy of his [her] name [reputation]
金賞に恥じない演技だった
