❶〔引いて取る〕pull [draw] (out)
刀を抜く
draw a sword
歯を抜いてもらう

❻〔追い越す〕pass; go [get] ahead of
後ろの車に抜かれた
The car behind outstripped [passed/got ahead of] mine.（▼outstripはレースを想定する）
我々のチームはラストスパートで相手チームを抜いて勝った
Our team won, overtaking the other team in a final spurt.
両者は抜きつ抜かれつの大接戦を演じた
The two had a close race, with first one ahead and then the other.
