❶〔排水する〕drain

この地面は水がよくはける［あまりよくはけない］
This ground drains [does not drain] well.

❷〔売れる〕sell；〔需要が多い〕be in great demand

この本はよくはける［はけない］
This book 「sells well [does not sell].

この冬は加湿器がよくはける［はけない］
There's 「a great [not much/little] demand for humidifiers this winter. ⇒はけ（捌け）

さばける【^×捌ける】

❶〔売れる〕sell; be sold

この商品は人気があって楽にさばける
This product is so popular that we have no trouble selling it.

❷〔ざっくばらんで，ものわかりがよい〕 ⇒さばさば

さばけた人だ
He's open and straightforward and not at all pretentious.
