ひたす【浸す】

❶〔液体につける〕soak; steep

石けん水に10分ほど汚れた衣類を浸しておいた
I let the dirty clothes soak for ten minutes in soapy water.

豆を水に浸す
soak [steep] beans in water

❷〔ぬらす〕moisten

スポンジを水に浸した
I moistened the sponge with water.
