grow up／become 「an adult [a man/a woman]／〔成人する〕come of age
病気になる
become ill／get sick／fall ill／be taken ill
立派な医者になるだろう
He will make a fine doctor.
教師から作家になった
He gave up his teaching job to 「become a writer [devote himself full-time to writing].

よくなる
get better／improve
悪くなる
get worse／worsen
目が見え［耳が聞こえ］なくなる
go blind [deaf]／lose one's sight [hearing]

He turned pale with fear.
雨になった
It (has) started raining.
